Survey says

A few posts ago I mentioned filling out the Buzzr survey on their Facebook page. Happened by Game Show Forum today, and sure enough, there's a thread about the survey. Little goes on at our oldies diginet without the oldies boards taking notice.

As you should expect, the GSF posters want more old stuff on Buzzr. Barker The Price is Right is a fave pick. I figured that more oldies would be the default choice of most of the survey-takers, so I countered with requests for newer stuff in my answers. I even committed the ultimate heresy of suggesting Harvey Feud for the channel. Horrors!

Some of the GSF posters complain about the length of the survey. That's not surprising when you consider the average attention span on the board. The survey does pester you for lots of personal info they can wave at advertisers, though Buzzr's range of sponsors appears limited. Old folks stuff and charities, plus some cheap direct-response operations. And Liberty Mutual. This retired actuary sees the one-time work comp specialist all over cable nowadays.

  1. I guess I'm on death row too. I also suggested on the survey they should add Harvey Feud.

  2. Just filled out the long survey on Buzzr's Facebook page. Lots of personal questions designed for sponsors. And I thought all of Buzzr's sponsors were charities!

This was you just a few days ago. Come on man, if you're going to try to take shots at others, at least don't leave yourself open for the same hits.

    1. Huh? I said the same thing in this entry, that Buzzr wanted a lot of personal information to give to advertisers. So what exactly is your point?

    2. That all you do here is scream at message boards in your little corner because NONE OF THEM worship at your altar. And when you're called out, you get super defensive or start name calling.

    3. I don't have to get defensive with doofuses like you. Your attacks don't even make enough sense to defend against them.

I still don't know why you're complaining about my comments on this survey, and you don't know, either. You're just yelling at me for the sake of yelling.

      That's your problem, not mine.

  3. BUZZR will never air Barker TPiR as long as the MeToo movement is going strong.
Look what LAFF-TV (subchannel) did with "A Different World". Acquired and aired the show for about 2 weeks before pulling it because Cosby was guilty.

All the talk about CBS protecting it's ratings and Barker's control of the show, etc might not be the real reason his show hasn't seen the light of day in quite a long time....

    1. I've heard so many theories as to why it's not rerun, I honestly don't know what to believe anymore.
