Ratings: sweeping with the syndies

This week TV News Check does its round-up of sweeps numbers for syndie shows.

November sweeps this year ran from October 27 to November 23, for those keeping score at home. Family Feud was the number one game show. I've often whined about the unfair comparison between Feud's many daily runs and Wheel of Fortune's single run. But Steve continues to produce impressive numbers. Meanwhile, Chris Harrison also can be happy about his ratings. All the household averages with changes from last year...

Family Feud 6.7 - up three ticks
Wheel of Fortune 6.2 - down eight ticks
Jeopardy 5.9 - down six ticks, the Sony soulmates have seen better sweeps
Millionaire 1.6 - up three ticks with better timeslots and a steady hand from Chris Harrison
Celebrity Name Game 1.3 - up a tick, like it matters any more

GSN endured a so-so week for November 28-December 4. 367K/252K viewers prime time/total day. The network ranked 42nd and 38th in the windows.

  1. Hey Casey, where are the ratings for Celebrity Bucket Kickers? I need to see them NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Disappointed that CNG got the boot. It was a funny show with a good host. Oh well. TV By The Numbers had the regular ratings from the week of Thanksgiving, and of course, the ratings were gobbled up.

    Family Feud- 6.0
    Wheel- 5.6
    Jeopardy- 5.3

I could not find ratings for Millionaire or CNG.

Interestingly enough, the weekend reruns of Feud made their top 10 with the weekend repeats getting a 3.1. Weekend Wheel had a 2.0. Maybe if affilates will give the weekend rerun a better timeslot, the ratings would be better.

  3. How about the new GSN original, Gyllenthal vs. Leto?

    1. We get watched Family Guy...not funny...time to shut your pie hole.
